Necesito empezar a trabajar en mi español ahora!

This sentence is supposed to say: “I need to start working on my Spanish now!” I’m planning on being in Spain later this year for the Camino de Santiago. I have no illusions that I’m going to be able to “speak Spanish” by then or have any sort of fluency, but I need to start working on some very basic stuff so that I can at least make basic financial transactions and ask for directions and such.
