Make $100 with my Cafe Press shop

I went to update the look of my storefront, and noticed a link called ‘Cafe Cash’. I followed it and discovered I made 3 sales! My commission was 23.50, which I used to purchase samples of some of the products.

I could mark this as done, but I think I’ll just change it a little, add a monetary goal to it.

I added a couple more images, and designed an ad to put on my website, which has generated some traffic. I haven’t sold anything yet, but it’s only been up a couple of weeks. I need to come up with more designs as well, something someone will buy.

I added another Photoshop design, and another horse picture. I’m photographing a horse show tomorrow, so I probably won’t be doing any designing until Tuesday or so. I’ll get the link to the shop posted on my website when I upload pics from the show, so hopefully I’ll start getting some traffic and sales going.

I spent most of the afternoon playing in Photoshop and came up with some nice designs. I uploaded them, as well as a few other pics that I had ready, and then spent the evening matching products with the pics. I think everything looks pretty nice right now, but I think I want to add a couple more things and play with the background a bit before I really start advertising.

Yawn… now off to bed…

I’d like to be able to make enough money to help pay off some bills, and to maybe some improvements around the farm (more trees, more fence, etc…)

I’ve already completed the first step: I finally upgraded to a pro membership, paid in full until September 2009. I feel I have enough pictures to work with to make the purchase worth it.

My next step is to get past this sudden creative block/blah time. I just can’t get myself to do much of anything. I know it will pass soon, but it’s frustrating until then.

The third step will be promoting the site. I don’t want to do much advertising now, as I only have three items for sale. When I have more, I’ll post the link on my web page, send a note to all my photo customers, and maybe purchase banner space on a website or two.
