Basically used Facebook

Facebook has evolved to my regular way of keeping in touch. Go figure.

Starting up the monthly potlucks again

Last year we started monthly potlucks to get our friends together. It kind of died out during the summer, but we’re starting up again this Saturday.

Monthly lunch

My new job location is near a couple other friends of mine, so we’re starting to get together for lunch once a month. These are friends, but not among my closest friends, so it will be good to build a better relationship with them.

Been doing fairly well

I’ve been doing better with this. I started out contacting one person from my list each day, but would then get a lot of replies back in a short period of time. I don’t want to be superficial, so I scaled back the amount of reaching out so I could let each connection’s conversation develop to a natural conclusion.

Starting in

I’ve made a list of folks I want to stay in touch with, and how often I want to check in with them. Starting today I will be contacting 5 people/day off of that list until I’ve hit everybody within my desired time frame.

I’m not really using any technical product to assist with this yet, just a text file. When I get a better feel for how it’s going I’ll probably start using something.

First...

I need to make a list of who I want to keep in touch with.

I might start using http://www.highrisehq.com/?source=bc+newsletter to track my contact, just to make sure I don’t miss anybody.
