Water restrictions in my part of the world (due to drought and falling dam levels) have put this on hold for, well, probably around about a year now!
Not sure when this will be possible again…
Maybe once we’ve installed a rainwater tank!

Well, seems to be a once a month event at the moment – but that’s better than not at all!
I was very entertained by the antics of my 16 month & 18 month cats during this bath. They were playing around, through & under the shower curtain! Hilarious!
...into the bath-tub a couple of days ago. it’s the sort of thing I forget to miss until I remember & do again. Though of course the head is back to 100kms an hour! Physical relaxation it may be, mental it is not. Yet!
...must remember that whilst my muscles LOVE very hot baths, if my heart feeling like it’s palpitating, the bath is probably too hot!
Yesterday’s bath was GREAT at the time, but when I got out, the skin around my thighs & lower back was all red & itchy! I actually stood in a cold shower for a good 10 minutes to get rid of the itch! Poor skin was waaaay too hot for waaaay too long. It looked like I had sunburn! Everything is back to normal now…
Though I did spend this one worrying & composing elegant replies to potential verbal attacks. HOWEVER it’s entirely possible the situation I’m worrying about may not even exist!
Sigh!
My body does feel plesantly heavy REGARDLESS of worrying!
...I finally stepped into the bath again yesterday. Yay! I think some of the reason this hasn’t been happening is that my partner has been back from overseas. But that’s OK! The time flew in the bath this week, but I think that’s because my head was busily memorising music – which is NOT in the spirit of “RELAX in the bath”...! Nevermind. I’ll gget it right eventually.
...only a day late! This was a GREAT bath! The best bit was having Lena (11 month old kitten) sit up near my head and purr at me for about 10 minutes, whilst occasionally dipping her front paw into the water. Yay for kittens! Yay for baths! Yay for ‘heavy relaxed feelings’!!
... and did find it very hard to just ‘not do anything’! Kept watching the clock (I’d vowed to stay in the bath for half an hour). Body did feel pleasantly heavy at the end!
The most exciting bit was having my 3 kittens perched around the bath, looking at me as if I were mad! One of them then drank the bath water, after licking my knee. The other 2 kept dipping their front paws in – trying to work out what it was all FOR, no doubt!
Next scheduled for next weekend – 28/29 Jan 06.
Yep, I’m a bit of a confirmed shower girl, however I LOVE the feeling of relaxation after spending a bit of time in the bath. I LOVE how heavy my limbs feel. I LOVE how muscle tension dissipates.
This is a bit of a self-care project for me – making time to care for myself rather than just do what I thing I ought to be doing.
The aim is to spend half an hour each week relaxing in the bath. For someone who always feels like they should be “doing” something, even half an hour of doing nothing is going to be tough.
