Just found a fascinating blog/program:
A training program to get you to 100 pushups in 6 weeks. Sounds fascinating. I just might try it!

went to PT yesterday and now I am sooo sore…. makes me realize how bad I need to work on this goal! I discovered my knee problem was actually being caused by out of balance quads….one side is extra strong, the other side is not responding. So now I also need to add lots of squats to my routine in addition to the core training.
I need to get back on the balance ball and do some exercises, as well as the ones my physical therapist gave me. Sometimes I think really getting in shape scares me, as it wouldn’t be too hard to do. I already ‘look’ like I am in shape being a former athlete, but truth is my muscles have lost a lot of tone and are becoming unbalanced so I need to do it. I just need to balance the concept of toning and muscle building with weight loss (I don’t need to drop any pounds whatsoever or it would be a bad thing!).
Good news…no knee surgery. Best news…I’ve been assigned to “the most intense” physical therapy! I should be whipped back into shape immediately!
OK…that felt too easy…but I bet I will be feeling it tomorrow. I did the first beginner core workout with the ball. I can tell it will be good for me to whip those muscles back into shape!
I am excited…it looks pretty fun! I am waiting a little until I have my doctor’s appointment this week for my knee….
Finally ordered that book I’ve been eyeing for core training on a balance ball. I’ve got a beautiful balance ball that is just sitting around here getting no use. I intend to use it. Also picked up some ankle weights. They’re pink so no boys in the house will ever steal them!
Ok, I got sidetracked with a Cable On-Demand exercise 5 minute bit called “Ballet Butt” which used basic ballet moves (leg lifts) to tone your backside…and also your abs at the same time. I’ve done this twice, and am hooked.
I’ve always been very in shape and had great muscle tone with little effort, but in the last year I’ve noticed I am starting to lose muscle. I need to gain it back while I can ASAP. I have a balance ball I have not used, but need to get moving on it again, especially since I would like to have a second (or even third) child. I need to purchase a Core book or find one On Demand before it is too late!
