get over my ex

We were never meant to be anyway. He lived in France I lived in England but by chance we met and fell in love but I guess the distance got to us.
It has been 2 months since we broke up and for more than 1 of those months I cried almost everyday and hardly ate but then I found out through my cousins msn (I saw his display picture and his screenname) that he had got back with this ex-girlfriend or girlfriend now.
I guess I realised that we were never meant to be. Sometimes love just isn’t enough and life gets in the way.
The thing that surprised me the most was that I was happy for him. I feel as if I will always have feelings for him but I don’t want to be with him. Today he text me to wish me happy birthday and I text him back to say thank you and to wish him all the best for him and his girlfriend.
:) For the first time in a long time I haven’t felt like crying or wanting to talk to him. If he wants to be friends then I’m ok with that or if he decides he never wants to talk to me again it doesn’t matter I guess I will still continue to consider him to be someone very important to me.
