January Report
  • Leave my office at a more reasonable hour:
My first mini-goal under this one is to be out of the parking garage before the rates go up at 8pm. I am doing reasonably well having accomlished this 14 days since I started tracking on January 11th. Let’s see, that’s a savings of $266. Not bad.
  • Go to bed by 11 at least 5 nights a week:
I need to work more on turning the TV and PC off an hour before my bedtime. My first mini-goal is to get to bed before midnight. I’ve been tracking this one for about 4 weeks now and finally in the last week I did it more days than not. I’m going to aim for 11:30. The sleep deprivation is really doing a number on my health.
  • Make progress on decluttering my home
So far I’ve just been working on that newspaper habit and that’s not going very well. Needs work.
  • Lose 20 lbs
On this one I need to work on many habit changes before I will see any progress. Right now my focus is on three habits. The first is eating a complete healthy breakfast each morning. It’s going fairly well. I’ve done this 15 days out of the last 3 weeks.

Also I’m working on eliminating burgers and fries from my diet. That’s going great and I’m on Day 12 of a 30 day challenge.

A habit I just started tracking last week is to eat only at my predesignated meal and snack times. No grazing. This one will take some effort. I managed it 3 days out of the last 7.

Whew, it took me quite a bit of time to summarize my tracking and do my reports today. I hope I get quicker at it.

I finally...

got around to making my New Year resolutions. I see them more as big goals for the year than drop dead do it or not resolutions. This time I kept the number of resolutions down to 12 to help with focus. I’m going to try using daily checklists to help me with some of the habit changes.

The first couple of resolutions I am working on are “leave my office at a more reasonable hour” and “go to bed by 11 at least 5 nights a week.”
