I think it would help if we set certain days of the week we eat at home versus eating out. I thought if we plan for it that might be easier to stick to.
Unfortunately my getting home late really messes us up. When it’s late either I feel too exhausted to cook dinner or my hubby wants to go out and I say yes out of guilt. So this may not get better until I start getting home earlier.

I’m not doing so well on this goal. This is another one that will require baby steps. When we bought groceries last night I made a list of meals I could do at home this week, so hopefully I will be inspired to cook more at home and use up some of the goodies we bought.
Even a couple nights over the next week would be an improvement. Hopefully this will be easier when I become more consistent about getting home earlier and can organize my week so I don’t have special projects for my family taking up the evening so often.

Why this goal
My husband and I eat out a LOT. Some of that is because of laziness, and some because I’ve had a hard time getting home at a reasonable hour. I’m working on getting home earlier so maybe we can start eating at home a little more often.
This goal will help me greatly towards two larger goals – to lose weight and to stop spending so much money.
I don’t see myself going from eating out most nights to cooking every night right away, so will work at this in baby steps.

I have had “cook more” on my list for a long time. Ultimately I still want to do that, but a more descriptive short-term goal for me would be “eat at home more often.” So I’m switching over to that one.
