learn to play the ukulele

Well, not a lot of progress. Still, it’s something.

So far I can play a couple of complete songs, and bits and pieces of a few others. Since I’m trying to set explicit parameters for all my goals, I think that once I can play 5-6 songs, all major & minor scales, and more or less every chord, I’ll be able to say that I can play the ukulele.

I’ve now moved on from chords, scales and Jeopardy and am attempting to learn other songs. Tried to teach myself “The King of Carrot Flowers” today but ended up learning it on guitar instead. Neutral Milk Hotel and the ukulele just don’t go together, apparently.

I can play that one Mountain Goats song, though. Maybe I should just stick to bands that I’ve seen play the ukulele live. That narrows it down to three. It’s something, anyway.
