save more money

I met with a financial planner today :) He’s going to go over all of the information that I game him and get back to me next week about the best way to manage my finances. I sure hope this helps!

Now that I have a job with a salary I can actually start saving some money. I’m planning on 10% of every paycheck, and hopefully I can make that stick. I’ll also have a 401K through work…wow, that makes me feel a little old.

I oficially have more than $100 in my savings account. That seems so small and pathetic, but I just keep telling myself that the number will get bigger and its better than not having anything saved at all.

So, I graduated from college which means money from the family. Most of it went into my savings, some stayed out because I’m broke and don’t want to starve to death…but the point is that I saved some of it which is a victory for me :)

After only having a checking account for the last 4 years or so I finally got around to opening a savings account today so that I actually save some of my money. It took me so long because I don’t have many available hours when banks are open to go in an open an account. While checking my account online today I discovered that I could open a savings account online, how perfect! So I took care of that immediately, now I just have to start putting some money in there.
