Funny thing, really…I’d always imagined Poland was more of a vodka country, than a beer country. This stuff, however is excellent – it reminded me of a German pilsner, which is no bad thing :)
Two random things :
(i) I have no idea how to pronounce it.
(ii) One of the guys I work with has a Polish girlfriend, the pair of them were over in August. He brought me back the pint glass as a gift, which was terrible nice of him :) He must think I like beer or something.

I like this stuff, very impressed. The colour might put you off at first, but it’s very tasty…I know it’s a weissbier, rather than an abbey beer, but it’s not entirely unlike Grimbergen :)

This was my last beer in Belgium. Easy enough to drink, certainly one I wouldn’t go out of my way to avoid…but not one I’d be in too desperate to try again. With the exception of Kronenbourg and Super Bock, I’m starting to think maybe lagery beers aren’t for me. They all seem a little…plain.
I was very impressed with the glass though :)

Tried this just after the O’Neil’s Blonde and thought it was totally fantastic :D I’ve occasionally heard of people commenting they get a slight chocolatey taste from a beer, and I always thought they were nuts.
For the first time ever, I’ve found a beer that tastes a bit chocolatey. Next time I’m in France, I’ll be back for more :D

O’Neil’s doesn’t do the ‘big name’ beers, but brews its own instead. (The brewing gear sits in the front window, with big pipes running along the roof).
Anyway, definitely better than your standard beer – out of the beers I’ve tried so far, I think it would be most similar to the Grimbergen Blonde. And if you’re ever in Paris, the Brasserie should be added to your list of places to visit – it also seems to be a very popular place for lunch.

Innis & Gunn oak-aged beer is like no other…well, at least, so the website claims. Which was funny really, because the first thought into my head was “this tastes JUST like Newcastle Brown.”

Dark brown, tasty stuff without being overpowering.
However, at something like 9% it could blow your head right off if you’re not careful:)

A strong golden pale ale, apparently. Better than Grimbergen, not quite as tasty as Leffe…but definitely worth a second or third sup :)

Another cherry flavoured effort. Still tastes more like a dessert than a beer, though nowhere near as vile as that peach stuff.
Taken with the phone camera, it was a bit dark that night in the pub. The barmaid was wearing shorts :)

The ‘standard’ stuff, rather than the 1664 variety – and I prefer this version.
