Checkin' in...

Well, I’m down to 329 pounds, and my average glucose reading is about 130 over the past couple of months. This past week has been a little rough, but it seems my bad weeks now are like my good weeks were 6 months ago!
I’m not going to mark this goal done until I get another HbA1C test and see long-term results.

I’m still just over 3 weeks from my 3 month check up at the doctor, but I’ve got plenty of evidence that I’m figuring out how to manage this thing.
I have dropped 25 pounds since I was diagnosed – I’m at 352 now. And my glucose meter’s history tells me that my 30 day average is now down to 152! I’m still over 100 most of the time, but I blame that to my failure to regularly exercise. That’s at the top of my list now.
I’ll check in again after my doc visit to see where that HBA1C falls this time…

I was diagnosed diabetic at the beginning of August while visiting my new doctor about my blood pressure – my sugar was over 650 that day….
The first four days were so depressing and scary.
Now, 3 weeks later, I am finding my sugar levels averaging around 190-250. I am barely exercising at this point, but am learning to eat properly for the first time in my life.
Baby steps, indeed…
I found in the process of dealing with all of this that my blood pressure problems were being blown out of control by an abcessed tooth. The doc said this probably made my sugar levels elevate too.
I feel better now than I have in many months, and really hope I can hold on to this positive momentum for a while!
