I finished up James and both books of Peter tonight. Probably just two more nights and I’ll be done with the new testament. Then I’ll go back to the old testament and pick up where I left off when I finished Leviticus.
I’m nearing the end of the new testament. I finished four short books tonight, all the way through Philemon. I’ll read Hebrews tomorrow night and should be able to finish the new testament over the weekend.
This book might be one of my favorites so far. Particularly, I liked Chapter 13, as part of it was just read at one of my friend’s wedding last weekend.
“Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ... So faith, hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” —1 Corinthians 13:4-7,13
I finished Acts two nights ago and I’m now halfway through Romans. I should be able to finish it tonight or tomorrow night. :)
I finished up Luke tonight. It was a little different from Matthew and Mark. I’m anxious to get into later books and read some different material as I’ve now read the life story of Jesus three times.
I finished the second book of the New Testament last night. Mark and Matthew are very similar in wording and content, focusing on the time from the birth of Christ to rising after his death, but Mark is a little more condensed. A lot can be learned by reading the parables, such as the one in Chapter 4 about spreading seeds in the fertile soil, on stone, in the weeds, etc. I’ll let you read it yourself.
