08. Getting snailmail.
09. Good music.
10. Waking up to find out it’s snowed.
11. Taking a long walk on those winter days when the sun shines low in the sky and the air is so bitter that my breath makes fog.
12. Seeing people open presents and being really chuffed with what they got.
13. That last look in a mirror before I leave the house on a night out and thinking I look good.
14. Winning Trivial Pursuit.
15. Completing a project.
16. Checking my bank balance and finding out it’s higher than I expected it to be (which happens very rarely, so this one makes me extra happy!).
17. Waking up and realising I don’t have to go to work.
18. Having Sundays to myself.
19. Cooking something from scratch that turns out really well.
20. Looking at old photographs.
21. Finishing a journal.
22. Finding something I thought was lost forever.
23. Old films I’ve been trying to find for years finally being released on DVD.
24. Losing weight.
25. The first thing I see when I wake up being my youngest smiling at me from her cot.
26. Going to parents’ night and being told that my eldest is still doing incredibly well at school.
27. Spending hours chatting to my other half about everything and nothing.
28. Winning something on Ebay for a criminally low price.
29. Reading a quote and knowing exactly what the author meant when they said it.
30. That post-rain smell coupled with the sun shining on a wet pavement.
31. Laughing so hard I forget how to breathe.
32. Being so caught up in a book that I finish it in a day.
33. Getting photos developed and finding out they’re all faultless.
34. Getting completely and utterly lost in a daydream.
35. Seeing wildlife in unexpected places, like a squirrel on my roof or a deer in my friends’ garden or rabbits in the cemetery.
36. Free samples – and if they’re cute mini-sized ones it’s a bonus!
37. Receiving a genuine compliment when I’m in the right frame of mind to accept it.

40. Being woken up by my very excited eldest on Christmas morning.
