This is not quite going as planned. I didn’t exactly reduce my spending, but at least I redirected some of it to a better place. I dumped a service that was costing me about $22 a month and not doing me much good. I then adopted two shelter dogs and their care is going to be more than that, but it’s a much better place for my money to go. So I’m learning that getting my finances in order is not just about cutting spending but also spending on better things. Next I’m dropping my land phone line, which I rarely every use.

Step 1 was a breeze. I canceled my Weight Watchers Online and WW On The Go services. I’ve been paying for them and barely using them. Big freaking waste. I could feed a small country with the money I waste on stupid things I don’t use. Enough!
This is pathetic and it needs to change. While many people are struggling because they don’t make enough money, I’m beginning to struggle because I manage my money so poorly. I make a decent salary, but since buying a house two years ago I’m having some trouble because of poor money management. I’m an impulsive buyer, I rarely comparison shop, and I buy things I really don’t need. There is no reason why I can’t get things on track if I’d just put some effort into it.
