I eased up quite a bit - my real trauma, I think, was Easter Eve - stuffing the kids’ baskets. A handful of jellybeans found its way into me and now I’m back on the couch, running nose, sore throat and generally feeling cruddy. Coincidence? Maybe.
Today: cucumbers in cottage cheese, yogurt with red onions, dill and flax seed with just a touch of feta. (and salt and pepper, of course).
I have, this week, found myself craving sugar not at all and most sugary things just taste too sweet now.

For years things have been going wrong in my body. The final straw has been this winter. Every sickness that comes through, I end up with. Last week I got the worst case of tonsilitis I’ve ever had. My tonsils swelled to the point that I could hardly swallow even water. Then I got a vaginal yeast infection. Then I got the most amazing case of athlete’s foot I’d ever heard of (did you know there are 3 kinds???). So I decided that it was all connected and learned all about yeast.
Thing is, I can’t figure out what I can eat. Plain yogurt is gross (confessed sugar addict here). The Green Garlic dressing with no vinegar is gross. Although I did learn I like spelt. My two great food loves: carbs and cheese.
So, am I being too strict? I haven’t managed to eat more than 800 calories in the last 4 days because i just don’t like anything that I can eat that isn’t loaded with carbs (oh, Terra chips, how I love thee).
I’ve also started acidophilus and plan to start garlic caps in a couple days.
