enjoy the second quarter of 2008 by having one new and fulfilling experience in April, May, and June. Woo Hoo!

First of all, this whole last quarter has seen my granddaughter go from just starting to sit up unassisted to high speed crawling. She is now able to pull herself up and I suspect she’ll be standing by herself and even taking her first real steps in a matter of weeks. Her acid reflux, though not completely gone, has been reduced substantially.
June was full of new and fulfilling experiences. We attended the Bear Creek Blues Fest June 28 and it was the best one yet. Yes, I know I attended it last year but it keeps getting better and better. I can’t wait until next year.
Our grandson Nick was enrolled in swimming lessons and went from level 1 to level 4 in one week. He had never had lessons before but apparently is a quick study.
We got a lot moved to the house in Slater. Mostly our collectibles and stuff we don’t use often. It still isn’t quite ready for us to move in, but it won’t be long. I organized our basement and got rid of a lot of junk we don’t need. Some things actually wound up going to the curb and I took some clothes to The Lighthouse store. They sell the donations to help victims of domestic abuse.

Those of you subscribed to my posts already know I’ve already done one new and fulfilling thing for June. Give Blood. But what makes it new and fulfilling is that I’ve been trying to give blood for a couple of years now. It appears the each time I decide to give blood, something happens. I have either been ill, an emergency has popped up or the blood mobile breaks down (that did happen). To make it worse, my husband and daughter went to the store a week ago and the blood mobile just happenrd to be there and they impulsively gave blood. My daughter has now given blood 4 times not counting the times she donated for her back surgery. She is only 20 years old.
I decided for once and for all to not let any obstacles stand in my way. So today I finally did it.

It has been a weird Spring. Both wet and cool. Yesterday was the first time we turned on the AC. It is both new and fulfilling to experience an actual Spring here in Missouri. In years past, we have gone 20 to 80 degrees F within days. Yesterday, I actually cut fresh peonies to put on family graves instead of plastic flowers. The last few years the peonies have been long gone by Memorial Day. We also have a bumper crop of blooms as well.
Our grandaughter Paige now has a second tooth coming in and has finally learned to crawl (watch out!) We will soon be baracading the basement steps and it looks like she needs a play pen ASAP.
We finally got our 80 plants of asparagus planted last week as well as 6 tomato plants. The newness of this is seeing if anything will come up after being planted so late.

1. Our granddaughter got her first tooth yesterday. I don’t know who was more excited: The grandparents, the mother or her Aunt.

2. My stepdaughter has agreed to help me sell stuff on ebay. Everything is in the initial planning stage. She has had experience doing this for herself and other people and is between jobs so this will help us both have some extra cash.

3. It actually looks like we are making progress on the houses we are working on. It is amazing what a simple coat of paint will do.

4. I noticed our snake grass has spread in our backyard. I already had someone at work ask me for a planting for their water garden.

5. The asparagus I planted last year has come up and is looking great. I’m still waiting for a couple dry days to plant more. Maybe this week.

Okay! I’m a party crasher…So sue me.
