Today has been wonderful – I am a magnet for positivity and joy right now :)

I wanted to list what I had accomplished today, and then what I’m looking forward to.

accomplished
  1. My finances have been tamed and are sitting, nicely leashed, in my account. It’s becoming very clear to me that, in 2010, this will be the next area of my life to bring focus to.
  2. A trip to the health store, and I have a fortnight-long cleanse to do. I’ve been feeling very … erm … blocked up over the last two weeks or so. I’ll start it tomorrow, and it will encourage overall health, as you’re meant to stay away from naughty things while you’re on it to give your body a rest while it flushes itself out.
  3. Drycleaning dropped off, shoes at shoe repairer.
  4. Doctor’s appointment made.
  5. Exercise done – skipping, this morning. It makes me smile to see people’s faces when they walk past and realise that I’m jumping rope.
to look forward to/d0
  • coffee with my love.
  • get mum’s account details and reimburse her. Repaying debt = a good feeling.
  • a girl’s night with T, including a long walk back to her house, salad for dinner, champagne, snacks and DVDs. (we watched Secret Window – I enjoyed it, although we guessed the ending about thirty minutes in)

Sunday 22 November 6 days ago

A whole day of Sunday, stretching ahead. Yum.

done
  • linen changed, bedroom cleaned, healthy breakfast in my tummy.
actions that will get me towards my goals
  • space of organisation and inspiration: locate three pictures to print, load onto memory stick (I bought the frames yesterday for only $3 each – they’re very pretty and vintage-looking). done
  • be the tortoise: post the thoughts I’ve had on the awareness/consistency nexus.
    —stretches.
    —journal.
    —apple cider vinegar. done
  • 140lbs: walk to P’s later with him. (I could walk in tomorrow, too.) done
  • study: catch up on the missed lecture last week. Read ahead for tomorrow.
  • financial fitness: make lunch today, to take in tomorrow. done – it will last for the rest of the week
pick and mix
  • NoHuWriMo.
  • first book in the Wheel of Time. I’m excited.
  • nap. It’s only 11am and I can feel one coming on. done – there goes the day!

Friday 20 November 1 week ago

43 days until the new year – an irrefutable reminder that 2009 is not yet over, and that there’s still time to get on with things (and I know exactly what those things are). Ugh, though.

day
  • download notes from missed class, read.
  • drink lots and lots of water.
  • make self first-ever coffee on the machine at work. (I frothed the milk and everything. This is going to save me so much money!)
  • create work chart to track projects.
  • begin work on BV project.
later
  • leave work at 3 – the entire department is undergoing some sort of cosmic relocation, so everyone has to vacate the building.
  • exercise. I feel like a lazy, porkish pig. I am going to do this outdoor circuit workout. Then I’m going to come home, and do this. I have 43 days to lose the 15lbs I want to before the end of the year. I might not get all the way there, but I am going to give it a really good shot.
  • update consistency tracker (thought: I could finish today on a four – that would be awesome).
  • body beautiful – face mask, hair masque, nails, all while watching …
  • True Blood. (really didn’t enjoy this)
  • set a plan for exercise and study this weekend – remember, it doesn’t have to be onerous. Slow and steady.

Tuesday 17 November 1 week ago

Leeetle bit hungover this morning (thank goodness I knocked back a whole bottle of water at 2am).

work
  • find something to do.
me-stuff
  • make lunch. (yes – I am really trying to get into the habit for the summer. Made a tuna, parmesan, avocado and tomato salad, nom)
  • email potential homestay couple for Canberra. (done, and now I cross my fingers that the room becomes available)
  • email Australian High Commission and ask them to give me lots and lots of money to go overseas.
  • find movie times, text P.
  • call mum re $.
  • email HL.
  • call Studylink to confirm continued loan.
  • assess account situation. (shit)
  • set some form of budget for Canberra (might as well take advantage of the slow work day to get my finances sorted). (more work to be done tomorrow)
  • add moderation goal.
tonight
  • movie – 2012.
  • walk with J? If not, then pilates and weights.
  • start new Carmen bin Laden book.

Monday 16 November 1 week ago

My first day of the full-time internship, and it’s been lovely.

  • exercise. (skipping intervals alternated with crunches. My heart was almost beating through my chest!)
  • action my to-do list.
  • meet T for start-of-the-summer drinks.
  • read ahead for my course while waiting for P.
  • call potential homestay couple – and if they don’t answer, leave a message! (yes! I am emailing them tomorrow)
  • quality time.
  • writing: journal and NoHuWriMo.

Sunday 15 November 1 week ago

I’m in a settled mood of zen this morning. Ommmmmmmmm. If anyone would like some calming vibes, let me know.

  • Pilates floor routine, and then Pilates sculpting for arms (remember: I am the tortoise – slow and steady).
  • call store to see if they do cash refunds.
  • it’s blowing a gale out there, but power walk into town to hopefully collect my refund, and then to the library to return DVDs, pay inevitable fines, and get out the first Robert Jordan Wheel of Time book. I’m really eager to get into a series of books, and I’ve heard this is excellent.
  • NoHuWriMo – the optimistic target is 1,000 words.
  • a quiet night in – I start my full-time internship and first summer paper tomorrow, so it’s the calm before the storm.
  • journal – courtesy of runwim, I’m going to think about what a healthy, successful relationship looks like to me.

Tuesday 3 November 3 weeks ago

I feel ambivalent about the day this morning. P is upset and in a horrible mood, I left my laptop at home and had to go all the way back for it, and I have a headache. In light of that, I’ll take ambivalence over negativity. Shaking things up with a numbered (as opposed to bullet-pointed) list today.

  1. work – sort out the box situation, and finish the document to send off to W and B.
  2. scan form and send to exchange coordinator. (not scanning from work, for some reason. Will do at university tomorrow)
  3. take tablet.
  4. H and his new girlfriend are coming round for tea, so I suppose I should go and buy some (and thus the accompanying tea-related picture). (he’s cancelled and rescheduled to next week due to multiple exams)
  5. gym – resolve, resolve, resolve. Thirty minutes on the bike, and then weights, because my muscles are crying out for some use.
  6. see P? He may just want to go straight home. (he’s very upset and coming round now, so the gym is just going to have to wait until tomorrow. Should have bloody gone this morning before work)
  7. talk to mum (she is going to give notice at her job today, and I want to be as supportive as possible).
  8. NoHuWriMo!
  9. study project for the day: coordinate notes. And, for extra credit, brief a couple of cases.

Monday 2 November 3 weeks ago

The goals on my ‘completed’ list seem to be a bit schizophrenic. Every time I go to write a FTF entry, there’s a new one at the top of the pile. Oddness.

  • breakfast with T (I haven’t seen her in a while, and it was really nice to catch up)
  • everything for ANU enrolment
  • collect notes from law school.
  • NoHuWriMo! (today’s and yesterday’s).
  • make doctor’s appointment. (today, 2pm. Such efficient service!)
  • spend gift voucher. Goody. (can now call the wardrobe goal complete)
  • gym. Half an hour on the bike (but yikes, my bum is starting to get sore from the seat), and a gentle weights workout.
  • reading, reading, reading.
  • talk to K in Hong Kong?

Is that really all I have to do today? I suppose I could get on to some study this evening, if I’m bored. Edit: I have just reserved the seventh season of Gilmore Girls at the library. Yay!

Oh dear – it was a good thing I had such a productive morning, because I came home, gorged on Gilmore Girls, and then fell asleep at about 6pm. No gym, but I suppose I needed the zzz.

Sunday 1 November 3 weeks ago

An excellent thing happened this morning. I thought I had left my favourite red lipstick at home in Tauranga, and was almost-hopelessly rooting through jacket pockets in search of it when, ‘lo and behold!

daytime tasks
  • book Peter Pan tickets. (can’t do online – I’ll go and get them tomorrow)
  • finish terms list and email it off. (!)
  • gym and weights.
  • send back enrolment forms for ANU. (have filled them out, but they are to be emailed, not posted. Will do at work on Tuesday)
  • call mum and dad. (useless, the pair of them. Neither are picking up)
  • hair masque. (I left it on for two hours and the results are amazing)
  • change sheets. (I’ve figured out a really clever new system for ironing linen – put it on the bed first, and then steam over the wrinkles with the iron!)
tonight (heading over to P’s)
  • continue with Frodo on his adventures.
  • NoHuWriMo. What to write about?! It does make it easier when you know that you only have to write 100 words.
  • another early night. I’ve been getting so much sleep lately.

Saturday 31 October 4 weeks ago

Happy Halloween! I’ve missed this place over the last week.

  • gym – gentle half hour on the bike. Getting back into it, slowly. (exhausted now. Went too hard.)
  • a walk with P, if the weather doesn’t get any worse than it is at the moment. The clouds look threatening.
  • journal-time, and 43T. November is the start date for a few Very Important Goals, so I want to have a clear direction heading into the month tomorrow.
  • list-making and general assessment of life.
