love to visit, LOVE not living there

Growing up in Western Michigan, I felt stifled and dreamed of living somewhere with more sunshine, more opportunities, and more open-mindedness (especially toward women). I moved away in ‘89 and have been MUCH happier in Houston. I still visit MI once a year, and I can (now) appreciate the things that make it special. Western Michigan has a lot of beauty and a lot of wonderful people… and it’s come a loooooong way since I left… but it’s just not “me”.
