I e-mailed a club to find out more about attending one of their meetings. Someone e-mailed me back and told me to give them a call. I did. I got their voicemail, which was very poorly done, and it sounded like I would not want to be part of a speaking club with someone that has such poor speaking skills! So I chickened out of going. I know, I’m just making excuses now.

ok, so I’ve gotten the contact info for 3 potential clubs I can join, now the hard part: contacting them and going to their meetings! Should I be trying out a meeting first to see which club/atmosphere I like the best? Will they be offended if I don’t come back?
I’ve always wanted to join and I’m not a horrible public speaker, but there is room for improvement and I do have my insecurities!
I think the hardest part for me will just be stepping foot into the first meeting. I’ve gotten more comfortable over the past while at doing new things and going out by myself, but doing something that you are a tad scared to do might make me more apprehensive.
