Sorry, I really have to do capitals.
I hate my back pain and I think a number of things cause it, but it is mostly my poor posture.
This goal is awesome because I can also complete my ‘be classy’ and ‘go to a chiropractor’ and ‘do tai chi’ goals at the same time.
Here is what I have to maintain:
1. Relax at the computer and other places. I’m always hunched over typing. I’m also stressed everywhere else.
2. Try to avoid carrying too many backpacks or shoulder bags.
3. Don’t wear clothing that’s too tight. Although this may be an old wives’ tale, my muscles are always sore after a day’s worth of wearing clothes that are way too tight. Don’t know why.
4. Walk on heels. I mean, my heels, not ‘wear heels’. This will help with strengthening my soleus and gastr-whatever, which I swear have to do with my upper back pain.
5. GOOD POSTURE at computer and anywhere else. The problem is that I’m very short and rarely ever can ground myself while sitting on chairs. I should sit at the front of chairs until I have both feet on the floor, if possible at a 90-degree angle knees.
In addition to feet:
-tummy in
-shoulders down and back
-head not protruding
-lengthen spine
6. Don’t cross legs! Yes, it’s lady-like, but it messes up the spine. Cross at ankles if absolutely needed.
7. Be aware of what muscles are being engaged while in any position.
8. Stretch often. This is another computer thing.
9. Practise deeper breathing.
Here are some other habits that involves appointments and scheduling:
10. Go to massage therapists if I can continue to afford them. They help!
11. Continue practising yoga. I’ve given this up for a year and I can FEEL it.
12. See a chiropractor (another of my 43 goals).
