I have adopted what I believe is a feral cat. I have been feeding him since the summer and I named him Ozzie, because I thought he looked like an ocelot? I love him to pieces and my heart flies everytime I see him at my patio door waiting for his breakfast or dinner. The only problem is – he won’t come anywhere near a person. If I open the door, he backs up or runs down the steps and watches me from a distance. He has come in the house once or twice to eat if I left the door open and placed the food 5 or so feet from the door but he is ever vigilant and will run the minute he hears someone move closer or whatever. I feel terrible now that the weather is getting colder and colder but he just won’t come in. I really don’t know if I should just keep feeding him and hope he’s resourceful enough to make it through another winter or try and trap him or what. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate hearing them. Thanks

My youngest daughter and I are going to volunteer at a local shelter for cats run by a very kind lady. She needs help cleaning and feeding, etc. My daughter, Rose, will get some hours for community service (which you need in Ontario to graduate from High School) and we both get to love up all the kitties!!!! Great deal all round!!!
