Tonight is supposed to have a really high chance for seeing this for people in the US if it’s clear and dark where you live. It’s going be raining and cloudy everywhere within driving distance for me (of course) but I wanted to let everyone else with this goal know so they could try.

Bummed.

Over the past few days, most of the US was able to see the northern lights. They went down as far South as Alabama and Texas! However, thanks to crappy weather here it was too cloudy at night to see them. I won’t lie, I’m kind of upset about it! My only consolation is that it’s not that I just forgot or slept through a perfect viewing- the weather made it impossible to see!

This year, there was a big solar flare and it forced the northern lights down into Canada- they were predicting it might go lower, into the US, (we’re right on the border) but unfortunately it never worked out and we couldn’t see them. It’s been a lifelong goal to see them, so hopefully we’ll either a.) get another chance, or b.) take a road trip to see them!
