I was faffing about on the internet the other day

and came across a brilliant free ebook called ‘Everything You Ever Really Needed To Know About Personal Finance On Just One Page’by Trent Hamm:
http://ia301534.us.archive.org/1/items/EverythingYouEverReallyNeededToKnowAboutPersonalFinanceOnJustOne/OnePage.pdf

very good down to earth advice for all aspects of saving with some great links to other resources, it takes a while to download for some reason but it’s well worth it.

Save $10000

I should have $4500-$5000 saved by the end of this month so that’ll get me half way. Every time I have a super frugal month like now I should be able to save about $1500, if I do 3 more frugal months in the year it’ll get me up to my target of $10000 and still allow me 8 months to go out and enjoy myself in.

upwardly docile

I got a letter from my bank yesterday saying I had £100 in my savings account -I’d completely forgot I had a savings account!
I’ve got £2350 in my current account and I’m working like crazy this month so I’m going to try to put £3000 in my savings account by the start of May.

this is going well even though work's a bit slow of late

I’ve got just under £2500 saved, I’m well on target for £3000 by christmas :D

I’ve never been this motivated to save before-it’s great to have a goal to keep your focus.

doing well with this goal

I’ve got £1500 saved so far. I want £3000+ by christmas.

I've let this goal slip lately

but an invite for paid tests at the university of psychiatry came in the post today and serves as a nice reminder to get this goal back on track.

had my day at the university of psychology today

lots of cognitive tests to melt the mind plus an hour-long MRI mindfuck with more tests while your inside, my ears are still ringing from the booming noise of the damn thing but I got a blessed £70 at the end of it and they’re going to ring me for more studies in a few weeks.

Another £200!

I popped into the sperm donor clinic I used to go to today just to see if I had any follow-ups or cheques I’d forgotten about and they had a cheque for £200 for me! I had to have a blood test to prove I’d been a good boy and hopefully the cheque will be ready to pick up on friday.
That’s February’s £200 secured and it’s still January, what a lucky start to the year!

Money!

I put £200 into my savings account yesterday, feels like a good start to the year :D

ways of generating more money...

...I just got a call from a psychology department in London, they want to pay me £70 to take psychological tests and undergo an MRIscan.£70 and a free lunch just to peak behind the door in my mind with all the demons behind seems a fair deal to me, what’s the worst that could happen?
