40 down and thirteen to go. 3 months ago

Just watched sabotage, An older film (1936) and lacks in many things, including some of teh acting. However it is as many of the others fun to see the hand of Hitchcock in the film. I loved the story line and how it ends up. Just me maybe but I liked it.

13 left.

This film is interesting in that during its filming the technology for “talkies” came to fruition. Hitchcock refilmed some scenes to include sound. I would not rate this as one of the better ones but still worth seeing. Anny Ondra is in this early Hitchcock film as she was in some others of his. I personally think she is very beautiful. (I suppose one mans opinion). As I have also written in another post about another movies she was the wife of Max Schmelling the German boxer.

PS. Of course you need to always look for teh Hitchcock Cameo.. as normal it is within the first 5 minutes or so.. DOn’t want to ruin it so I will not say where.

The Manxman 20 months ago

Very good movie. Made in 1929 and is a silent film. I guess I am an old fashioned guy. Maybe I was born in wrong generation. :) I see these actors form 60 to 70 years ago and the women many times seem so attractive! Perhaps its that this time was before the anorexic look in show business. They tend to look normal weight etc…
Little trivia in this film Anny Ondra is the leading lady and I think is stunning! Of course she is only in black and white. :) She was later married to Max Schmelling! The boxer from Germany! Interesting! She was a Czeck actress.
I guess this kind of thing I find interesting. She live a long life dieing at the age of 84 in 1987.
Anyway was worth seeing!
