get a job

The bottom of the run: a cashier position and a cafeteria position. I hope to god I get one of these.

I’m moving into an apartment and need some income – rent money, food money, bill money and at least something to save.

..and am instead asking people if the position is still available. They still don’t respond. I really don’t know what to do, because I’m moving out soon and need to be able to afford rent. I’ll take anything now…maybe even if I don’t agree with what they do :( I still need to afford shelter and food.

applying for more jobs today. I think I’ll try to apply for one every day until I get an interview.

EDIT: Just applied for another library job, and spent an hour tailoring my resume to the position. I think I applied for about 7 of these already. Don’t know if I should hope knowing the previous outcomes.

...even after a very good interview. I was so sure I was going to get this job too, looking forward to it, and now I’m miserable again. I’ve been trying every job, no matter how crappy (this one was custodial) and I’m still not being hired. Is there something wrong with me?

I’ve had to move back into my parents’ house and have student loans up the wazoo. I have no money to fund the things I dreamed about, like go on a kayaking trip with a school group or studying abroad, even for just a few months in a relatively cheap location. I would gladly work a shitty job if I could start funding these dreams. Only I can’t find a job at all :’-(

I feel so hopeless on this issue I could puke. Time to start applying for 20 more postings in the hope that ONE might consider me before chucking my resume in the bin.

FINALLY got an interview. Tuesday. Its not the most glamorous job, but its a LOT better than nothing. I need a big more schooling before I can try and get anything better. But I will continue looking even while I’m working.

I’ve been applying to jobs left and right. I must have applied for 25 by now. Every one I can find…even customer service and janitorial work. What is wrong?? Why don’t I get any call backs?? I don’t know how I’m going to pay Novembers rent in 15 days…

I’ve applied for 18 jobs. EIGHTEEN! 5 of them called to say the position was filled and the others are probably null anyway.

I’m applying for a few more today, but I’m not hopeful…

I have to pay rent, but when I have an extra $100, I’ll buy a used wetsuit and board and try surfing. That will be worth saving up.

Applied for 17 jobs (wow…but mostly they were small part-time jobs with the same requirements, just different places on campus), and 5 are out already. I hope at least works…Maybe I should apply for a few more?

I’m waiting for my preferred job to get back to me and let me know if I’m hired; I don’t know if I should apply to 3 others I’m looking at if they get back to me in a day or so, but I don’t want them to all be taken! These are all student jobs, and school starts tomorrow. (I don’t want to have to go through the effort of preparing 3 resumes and letters of introduction, and then explain that they were only back up jobs if my preferred job hires me).

Applied for 2 more jobs today (for 3 total applied for), and have 2 more back ups that I can apply for at any time if I need to. First guy said that the interview went well, so I have high hopes.
