I planned originally to return to Europe since it’s been two years since my last visit. Then I saw the ticket prices…WOW! $3-400 more than I normally spend!!! Unless I find a kick-butt price, I have to find an alternative.
Then it dawned on me…I’ve never been to Canada, and yet it’s just north of me! Ok, not JUST but close enough that there’s no excuse for my delay of visitation. However, I don’t know where in Canada yet…and it is a big country. I thought perhaps driving or taking a train up? Is that ridiculou? Maybe jet north of Washington and cruise north along the coast? Hmmmm.

Recently took a drive with my cousin in her Audi TT to California. We traveled to San Fran, Napa, Yosemite, and Mammoth. Certainly not the elaborate traveling I’m used to, but good for a small budget!
I’m dreaming of London and Dublin…..

Okay, so a road trip is in order over President’s Day weekend. I’m dying for a trip out of town, and it drives me nuts that my closest driving options are LA, Pheonix, and St. George. Arrrg! Why can’t I just jump on any train and suddenly appear in Paris or London or New York in a couple hours?
California will have to do for now, I suppose! So, since I am poor since the purchase of my home, I plan to drive the four hours alone, through a beautifully desolate desert, from Las Vegas to Orange County. Driving under a full moon (at night, obviously) is gorgeous, haunting, amazing—but I don’t trust myself alone at night driving for so many hours.
I need some Erin time, beach time, museum time (I’ve never been to the Ghetty! Should be amazing!), and snow time with Erin! Man, I can’t wait! Although it is not as exotic as some of my other trips, it is out of the state and just involves moving! I am so excited! =0)

I’d rather go back to Ireland, but if I can’t afford the flight…
Take the Coast Express train from Santa Ana, Ca to Portland, Or (to visit goddaughter and Mary), stop in Seattle for a night or two, then continue up as north as possible…hope it goes into British Columbia. Then maybe fly back home to Vegas after that. Weee! I love trains! =0)
