write freelance articles

I’ve starting blogging on a few sites to try to get my name out there. I’m also looking for freelance blog jobs—I read that this is one of the best modern ways to break into freelancing. I’ll give it a shot and see! Wish me luck!

I just found an online three month class that helps people hop through the hoops of learning how to write freelance articles and break into the business. Now, I totally get that most of these classes aren’t worth it, but this is cheap and maybe will help me develop to skills-and confidence-to finally do this!

Okay, I haven’t thought much more about this every day other than, “hey, I really want to do this.” Duh. Well, just dreaming about it won’t make it happen. I think I’m afraid of failing or looking foolish or maybe I’m just so completely lost and overwhelmed I sit on the floor, staring at the computer, complaining that this is what I want, but I have no idea how to get there. Where’s the freelance article fairy when we need her???

I think about it every day, even put it on my calendar, but seriously can’t get it together to write anything! I need motivation…any suggestions?

I keep waiting for inspiration to run through my house, swirl around my couch, and land right atop my head. In my fantasies great and amazing magazine editors will beat down my perverbial email door, begging me to write to my heart’s content for $5 a word. In my dream world, I would never have to wait for a table in the trendiest restaurants for my reputation as a writer would preceed me. Ah…to dream!

But it has to start somewhere, right? So sit down, I tell myself, and stop surfing the web, I command myself, turn off the television and focus, focus, focus! I say this as I am on an internet site with Friends on in the background and not a damn thing accomplished as far as submitting query letters for articles. Anyone have a magic pill???

Right now I’m trying my hand at submitting querry letters. Have not received any responses as yet, but it hasn’t even been a month. I have a list of ideas and editors, and need to just keep motivated to complete this goal.
