Last year my mom and I bought a cookbook called “Shakespeare’s Kitchen,” but we never cooked anything from it and I felt guilty. Yesterday I finally convinced her to let me make “Salmon with Violets.” Unfortunately, we didn’t have a violet blossoms growing, so it was more like “Salmon with vinegar, olive oil, and lemon juice on a bed of Vidalia Onions.” Anyway, I was well complimented!

My now-deceased grandfather always made execellent scrambled eggs for us on Christmas morning. I made them for my mom and grandmother last week and it looks like I’ve been hired to make the Xmas eggs.
Sometimes, my mother makes really excellent lentil soup. She went away on vacation, so I thought I’d try it myself. It’s perfectly edible, but it just doesn’t taste right. Maybe she’s got a secret indgredient.
For some reason other people like my cooking, but I hate it. Maybe I should stop making things with molasses…
