Love comes to town ...contd 3 years ago

contd from here

The phone rang..”Hello, Olivia speaking..” “Oh um..sorry, I believe I may have the wrong number” was the apologetic response. The crisp pronounced home counties English voice on the end of the phone reminded her of someone she once knew , it was remarkably similar, for a moment she paused, then proceeded to ask hesitantly ”...is erm, that you Jeremy?” “Jeremy?” the voice responded quizzically, “oh no, I’m afraid not no, I’m William…you um..sound as if I should know you, ha ha, I am sorry, look I’m sorry to have disturbed you, good day to you..” The familiar voice hung up the phone, leaving Olivia to ponder for a second or two slightly shocked at the sudden dial tone in her ear. Jeremy was a man she once loved. English, charming, funny, she had a few regrets over how she had contributed to the fall of this relationship. She knew she’d been an absolute cow with him and had treated him appallingly, ignored his calls, emails, texts, took him for granted and it wasn’t before long that the relationship broke down, with Jeremy of course, feeling the worse for the experience.

Her mind drifted to their last meeting together one that had ended in public humiliation in a starbucks in Oxford. Jeremy had been bemoaning yet again, how he felt that she could make more room for him in her life, demanding commitment, respect and the usual litany of emotional demands of which Olivia had grown so weary of.

She didn’t need him, he was a good fuck and that was that, so this latest outburst was a good opportunity to create a scene and walk off, get rid of this tiresome whinger in a hail of finality. Her words were few, yet her message weighty…”Jeremy – Fuck this, I’m done with you, don’t follow me, don’t call me,I don’t want to see you anymore, you’re an idiot! I’m done with your whining,I’m done with your demands, you suck” and with those words she upped and left, jumped in a cab and headed for the airport. Jeremy tried to follow of course, he even flew out to see her after she’d flat out ignored all attempts at communication, but she’d already factored this and had upped and left on a 3 week vacation to Hawaii. Jeremy bless him, soon grew tired of knocking on the door of an empty house in Celestville and soon returned home, devastated and lost.

The memory evoked by this familial caller had left her feeling a little unsettled, she began to question herself, began to revisit issues that had troubled her deeply. “Was I such a cow? Why am I such a bitch? Why did I treat him so badly? Why did I just feel my heart lift?” were questions that raced through her mind, niggling away at her before slowly fading in the background of her no longer relevant past. The phone rang, she paused, almost startled, troubled that it might just be the William guy once more ”..Hello..” was her hesitant response..”Hi Olivia” came back the camp reply. It was her friend Juliano, “Oh hi Baby” was her pert response, “are you picking me up soon honey, or shall I meet you there?” Juliano hesitated before responding almost apologetically “I um can’t make this evening honey, I have a hot date with a guy named Paolo, but I have this friend of a good friend of mine who could do with seeing a pretty face, he is very nice, you will like him I think and he’s straight too, you might even fancy him too!” he chuckled, “oh god, great, you know Im not sure if I really fancy that idea at all” came her disapproving response, “why couldn’t Paolo wait for another evening?” she asked accusingly, almost angrily “Oh he’s velly nice, and he has to fly back to Puerto Rico first thing and..” “ok, ok, I understand, who is this guy you wan’t me to meet? is he hoT” she asked, exagerrating the final consonant with a sharp ‘T’, “oh yeah, he’s hoT baby, very hoT, he’s a friend of business partner at a loose end, here on business for a few days, what do you have to lose, its just dinner, thats all..I’ll make it up to you I promise” Olivia paused and pondered the alternative of a boring night in before saying “Ok, what the heck, why not, tell him to pick me up at 8, have fun Juliano” ..”awww thanks Olivia babe, you are the best, I’ll call him now and let him know, bye baby” and with that he hung up.

to be contd (perhaps)

Love comes to town 3 years ago

Olivia Kempton 31 years old Leonine woman – Gorgeous, great tits, fabulous arse, good skin, classically beautiful face, a real head turner. Single, sexy and available. She had men falling at her feet left right and center. Everywhere she went men perked up and behaved in crazy drooley ways. She thought she loved them (men), enjoyed the attention they showered on her, enjoyed playing with them like fun squishy toys, she could melt the toughest of hearts with a smile or a pout. She was a master of herself, a powerful sensual being who could bewitch a man at 40 paces. Wealthy, independant, sexy and yet…single. How could this be? Why? Why hadn’t she been snapped up? Why was she still on the proverbial shelf. Was she really just an utter bitch after all. Had the attention from others blinded her to her own disdainfullness? She was in love ok, in love with the idea of her, her outer beauty, her shiney bling, her opulent lifestyle – she would never have recognised the cold creature that others experienced, the person who crushed the love bestowed upon her, the person who took every suitor for granted, the person who despite all her surroundings was actually pitifully alone, yet seemingly powerless to either see it, nor do anything to change it.

William Richards 30 years of age Taurean man – Handsome, kind, intelligent. Successful, smart, nice all round Joe. Women who encountered him were soon hooked by his charm and allure. He knew how to make them feel special, knew how to listen, how to care, knew when to pause, when to smile, instinctively knew when they needed that little something else, and seldom failed in providing – non contrived, perceptive, funny Mr Richards.Single since his marriage failure of 5 years previous, his strengths with the ladies were his very weakness too. A series of failed romances had shown this to be true. His achilles heel, his respect for the feelings of others, above and beyond those of his own.Yet, who could blame him? he wasn’t a fool he knew what he did, he knew why he behaved in the way that he did, yet he felt powerless to prevent himself from repeating those same old mistakes, time and time and time again – stuck in a pattern of behaviour moulded years previously by a mother who knew no better. Her words like a reverberant echo in the pattern of his soul, simple emotionally charged words that were with him to this day some 25 years later. Through a veil of Martini and tears ‘Son, don’t ever treat your women the way your father did’

Celestville wasn’t a bad place, population 50,000, a satellite town of Los Bidialos the tech epicentre of the westernised world.Olivia Kempton was kinda bored with it all. Bored with its newness, bored with its lack of character, bored with its men. She didn’t go out half as much as she once did. Her life had become a carousel of work, home, the odd night out then bed, usually alone. By day she attended to the needs of sick people in the main Hospital at Los Bidialos, sometimes working up to 14 hour days. She loved it though, it gave her meaning and focus a reason for being, she wasn’t a bad person, far from it.The people she’d helped out were a testament to this. The old woman she comforted who’d just lost her husband of 50 years, the motorcyclist who’d have to lose a leg. The guy who’d just been told he had cancer all would swear to her humanity and kindness. Yet, this kindness, this kind of love, this kind of compassion was easy to mete out. They weren’t after a piece of her, they didn’t wantto have a bite of her cake – uh uh, these were the deserved, the needy, these were of course, people in genuine need of love, worthy of a love she had in abundance.

It was a warm summers friday evening. Olivia was getting ready to go out and meet with her gay hairdresser friend Juliano. She liked gay guys. They gave her a sense of security, she knew they weren’t interested in the contents of her knickers or bra, she loved that they were men, and adored the notion that all they were really interested in was her, and who she was. What she gave out to them. Be it her cutting recursive wit, or her motherley hugs, they laughed with and accepted her for the beautiful friendly funny person that she presented.
