Keep up with my laundry

I’d been working with the assumption that to complete this goal I had to have every last article of laundry done at and away at the same time. I realized that’s not the case, laundry is always happening. My family never has to resort to wearing dirty clothes. And I’ve been neglecting other housework to chase a ridiculous ideal. I am actually keeping up with the laundry, there’s no mount washmore (maybe a mount foldmore). In fact, I’m getting the laundry into the washer so fast, I’m doing clothes that probably could be hung up and worn again.

So I’m done with this goal, and starting a new goal. Reorganize where I do the laundry. Out of sight, out of mind.

Got all the clean laundry folded and put away, which is great. Got within 2 or 3 loads of having everything done and then …...disaster! A pair of pants went in with a pull-up still inside – diaper explosion all over the inside of the washer. I had to run the same load 3 times just to get all the diaper diaper filler cleaned out. Blah.

Thanks to the long weekend, got to within 4 loads of my goal. But now the weekday rush starts, and more laundry. Only having 4 loads to finish is pretty remarkable, as is having all the clean stuff put away & all the dirty stuff by the machine and not all over the floor. So pretty happy with this.

Got 7 loads of laundry carried downstairs to the garage, 5 loads that had already been washed folded & put away. Only actually got 3 loads washed (one still in the washer, one in the dryer and one waiting to be folded). Thought I was getting a lot done, but really I’m nowhere near there.

2 kids at bedwetting age, everyone using a towel a day, everyone wearing 2 outfits a day (work then housework) + pajamas. I have NEVER had all the laundry clean & put away. I’m at a total loss as to how other people do it. I’m thinking I should quit my job and open a laundromat.
