Make paper

This was a good goal. Son is really into recycling right now and his OT suggests more scissor work. So we spent days cutting up all the junk mail, a little at a time. We soaked it in water for a 2 hours, then whirred it with a hand blender thing (those things that puree).

I first tried straining the pulp through pantyhose over a bent coathanger. That didn’t work to well. Then I remembered some wooden frames I got from the craft store for $1. Stretched pantyhose over top and used that to set the paper. Worked nicely. I don’t think this will become a hobby, but it was cool for the kids to do.

But I have to confess, I only want to do it once as something fun for the kids. I don’t intend to turn it into a hobby.
