Tithe

Donated $50 to Habitat for Humanity to help with rebuilding of the homes hit by Hurricane Katrina! I really enjoy getting to pick new places to give to.

Last week I got my promotion finally approved. I was expecting it to go through this week, but it went through a week earlier guaranteeing new salary pay starting February 1st. So far on my taxes, I’m due about $1800. Yes!

I won a palm zire from a survey I completed months ago at work. I am not the kind of person that wins thing really ever. It feels like there are little blessings coming my way all the time. Today I plan on donating 10% of the money I won last week to St. Jude’s Hospital. I’m really enjoying this!!!!

I’ve read a lot of explanations and heard a lot of theories about tithing, one being that you will be provided for in ways that you can’t imagine when you tithe. Yesterday I made my donation of $50. A few hours later I got a text message from my sister that I won $225 in her high school’s football pool. That seems like more than a coincidence. Anyhow I look forward to doing this at the beginning of next month.

It felt good. Now I just need to keep with it.

This is my tithing goal. I will start with $50 on 1/15/06. I’m planning on giving this to Mercycorp right now. They have very good compassionate programs that I support. I will actively choose a place to donate on a monthly basis.
