NEVER EVER AGAIN!

never again will I do this ebay selling. Infact never again will I hoard any crap that I have to sell later on. I still have alot to get through so once I’ve finished selling those bits that will be it!

I used the first lot of Paypal money I raised and instead of getting my shed windows I bought birthday presents with it. Actually I found this so rewarding buying gifts from the money I raised from my unwanted things, I hope I can raise enough to get some Christmas presents on top of my windows. eBay and Paypal are taking so much money in fees though so for less expensive items they are not worth listing there and I’d much rather give them away to Charity. I also have sorted through a load of old books that I was figuring out what to do with but I’ve realised that I shall release them on Bookcrossing, which sounds like fun!

Also when I had my stomach muscle problem I couldn’t get out and post some of the larger items which means I’ve had to give refunds which has been a hassle.

I shall be making a new list and continue now that I can post things again!

Yes! Really started now! & for charity :)

After the first big chuck out in my shed I decided to really start shifting the ebay gear I’ve wanted to sell in there this past last week.

Actually what motivated me was hearing on the radio how much the UK had given in donations to the Disasters Emergency Committee Pakistan Floods Appeal, and I thought well, they’ve been left with nothing from those floods and I’ve got all that junk in my shed that’s unwanted, I shall sell that stuff to raise some money for them.

I was thinking to selling my ebay stuff for charity anyway but there was no local ones that I support on their list of charities to donate to. Also ebay’s subsidiaries take deductions out of the donations which I don’t agree with which also put me off using ebay to sell for charity, the thought of like a middle man making money. Good thing is though that at the moment ebay is wavering those deductions for money donated to the floods Appeal so they are getting all of the money right now, so worth me doing.

Getting everything list is such a pain, you need to be super organised for this and filling out that form over and over again is laborious. Also it takes me a while to pack everything neatly… there’s nothing worse than paying for something and only to find that it is carelessly packaged which makes the value of the item seem less so. Also both ebay and paypal are taking nice big chunks of the money I’ve made in fees, so right now I’m left with half the amount of money from items I’ve sold.

But it’s all selling really well! I think it is because I’ve put down a good percentage going to the Floods Appeal that is making people buy. I’m also listing for 3 days at a time, so stuff is going out of my shed quickly! And I say it’s all junk, but pretty much most of it is “new with tags” etc. So it’s all decent stuff :)

All I want out of this is to make enough for my painting magazine subscriptions and to buy some glass windows for my shed. I think I shall achieve this amount hopefully :)

Total listed so far:

33/67

Total sold:

17/67

Also it’s taught me to never hoard anything ever again!

Written a list...

...of my first wave of ebay junk to be listed. Just need to take a photo of each bit of tat and then weigh for postage and then list. Then I can regain my shed back to use as an arty photo developing studio… JOY!
