learn more about my heritage

i am Filipino. i was born in the Philippines, but moved to the US when i was 4. i have vague happy memories of living in the Philippines, but i am basically an “American” Kid. i don’t speak the language, i don’t have an accent, not unless you count my mid-west accent. and i have a very little knowledge of my counrty, except for a few thing i have tried to look up. i do a fairly good job of understanding my realtives when they speak Tagalog but i just can’t speak it. i love Filipino food. But i love Punk-Goth-Industrial music. I love Horror movies. think Star Wars is the Shit! i don’t own a Barong. and there have been several occassions where other Filipino kids have looked down on me becasue i wasn’t like them or spoke the language. i want to learn about my heratige not because i want to be like them. i just want to know more about my culture because it is a part of me i know almost nothing about. and i want to know ALL of me, in order to grow.
