I was about 8 years old, I loved the outdoors even then, and as a child I was a bit of a Tom Boy. I know this sounds really gross but I had collected some worms one rainy day and put them in a jar. I then went fishing a few days later with my Mom’s friend. I caught my first fish that day with the worms that I had collected. I caught this fish right off the shoreline of a lake. It was so cool. I was caught up in the moment and then realized the fisherman beside me asked what I was using for bait. At the time the guy that I had gone with told the fisherman that it was dew worms. The fisherman asked if he could by some from me. The guy I was with negotiated that I would give him a small baby food jar of worms for 5 dollars. This was the first amount of money I had ever earned. At this point I don’t think I even had an allowance that I remember. We drove home that night and I kept opening up my yellow leather/plastic purse and recounted my five one dollar bills over and over. To this day I had always looked at this memory as my first buisness experience as an entrepenure, but I know see that that guy negotiated for me. As great as that was I have continued the attitude that I can do the service but I need a man to negotiate my buisness for me. Now that I see that I think that I realize that this has handicaped me for years. I am going to start acting on my own behalf to negotiate and market my buisness, I do not need anyone else to do this for me anymore. What a revelation.
My first memory of money
where was I? Blackfalls alberta,
Was someone laughing, arguing, crying? I was excited I had just found a 2 dollar bill, I found it in a mud puddle that I had been playing in, I took it home and washed it off, I felt special to have found such treasure, I also felt rich.
What else was happening in the scene? My sister Camielle had been out with me that day and she was walking in front of me.
How did it make you feel? At the time I felt a bit afraid that I would have to give it back, then I was told that I could keep it and then I went and washed it off and felt like I was on top of the world.

I plan to complet the Suze Orman’s Finacial Guidebook, putting the 9 steps to work.
The first exercise is to write my intention in buying this guidebook, we first of all I have taken it out of the library and the intention behind it is to develop some coping skills around money, something that I did not learn as a child or young adult and now a a mid adult it is my responsibility to take care of this in my life. If I don’t know how to do somehting it is up to me to find out and today I am done standing in my way, today I want to out of my habbits of self distruction and ignorance. Today I am stepping aside and letting others teach me, today my intention is to learn from this book.
Worked on accounting today completed everthing up todays date this month. I also have doubled my hours of working I am half way to my goal of 33 hours a week now I am thinking of at least 35 hours a week
This month I just feel overwhelmed, I worked on my accounting yesterday and now have June to the end of Sept completed. The previous months to June will be difficult to finish up but plan to complete it.
The billss…......yikes…...got to find more hours to work.
I have completed June, July, Aug and am working on Sept accounting. I have also gotten my accounting friend to complete my past two years of income tax. I will be sending that off shortly. I am starting to slowly see small changes occuring in my spending.
However it is easy to go and spend 5 dollars here and there on a regular basis. I have got to work to stay focused and create support all around me to get out of this debt. Total debt including student loans…......71,000 ish.
I am most concerned with the 20 thousand dollars that is not studen loan debt. I hope to pay this off within the next 12 months.
