I’m going to do it this year-I’m just going to write and write and NOT STOP AND EDIT THE FIRST 10,000 words like I ALWAYS do. Plus I’m not wasting time deciding what to include-my stories always end up too spare in detail anyway, so my MC is a kind of shallow, eating disordered cutter of a private school teenage girl and her dad got remarried and barely told her and her mother is a therapist and her best friend is maybe gay but his older brother is into her and her actual crush’s mom just died and he’s getting involved in a bad crowd and drugs and a new, very young girlfriend his little sister is a suicidal junior figure skater and the crush’s girlfriend’s stepbrother is a drug dealer and the son of the mean teacher and it all kind of unravels from there. Just all the ideas that have been rattling around in my head since high school, out. No snowflaking, no outlining, just writing. And then I can GET ON WITH MY LIFE. Arrgh.
