Forgive the dorkiness – I’ve had little sleep so far in vacation land.

And technically, metros and subways and trains are pretty much the same thing (although some train nut could tell me I’m totally wrong about that).
I went on a subway in DC when I was in middle school, I traveled on the metro in Paris (I actually remember it way more clearly than anything else since we did so much traveling in Paris), and we even traveled by train in Paris to go out to Versailles. (Such a WONDERFUL place to see – I would SO be willing to go again). You know what? I even went on a train ride in the mountains on a trip to NC when I was younger – they even staged a train robbery. That was cool.
BUT – I’ve never actually gotten on a train with suitcases with a destination in mind.
But Heather and I have plans for this now – we are leaving Sunday (two days!) to travel by train from here (SC) to DC – then we’ll take a bus to Philly and then another bus to NYC. Then we’ll take the train from NYC straight back to SC.
I’m looking forward to it :)
