Clean my room before my husband comes back from Iraq!

Ok, I am a very busy person. I love being a busy person. BUT, I didn’t want to be lonely while my husband has been in Iraq so I became involved with so many projects that I love that I haven’t paid attention to cleaning my room. Not just cleaning. I just didn’t put anything away, for about a year (and it really started before that). I know, hard to believe. Now I am in trouble! It is embarrassing it is such a disaster. I can barely walk through it (actually it is a physical exercise!!) and I can’t find a thing. Things MUST change. My husband is coming back from Iraq and I need to shape up!! The countdown is on. Now that I have shared this terrible secret I MUST begin. I have One and a half months! I am not sure how I am going to do this now! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Any suggestions on how to start. Just beginning is horrible! I tried to start by cleaning out my walk in closet, but I only made the room worse! I have a hard time throwing things out for some reason. Well, there you have it. Any suggestions will help. Thanks!
