build a personal website

Other peoples links pages are often lackluster and forced. They really don’t want you to look anywhere but at their page. And perhaps the banner ads they get pennies from. I’d like to provide my own delightfully ascerbic wit, pictures of my cats that noone will care about but me, links with scintillating commentary, and that special something that will make people think I am fscnating and send me emails. At this point I’m unclear on the special something part. Any clues?

There is so much stuff out there that I’ve found that I think everybody should see. But isn’t it kind of pointless if I don’t have content of my own to add? But who wants to hear me rant?

I have fauxliage.net but my best friend built it. And its for business, specifically a business I don’t perform much anymore. I have gleaned so many great links and quotes and mp3’s and ideas and pictures…..and i want them all in one place where i can look at them and share them with outhers. and i want to know how to do it myself. is that too much to ask for a nontechnical academic geek?
