Finding disk space is gonna be tough, but that’s OK. After all, there’s something better than downloading the entire Inuyasha series, and that would be downloading the entire Inuyasha series in Mexican. ^^

Have you wondered why is my anime archive so fucking huge, taking up like 25 DVD’s in compressed AVI format? That’s because I download them with a Bittorrent client, getting the .torrent files at Torrentz.com.
Yeah, I know anime is fucking heavy when downloaded, but it’s of much, much higher quality, with the extra bonus of being able to keep your own series for future watching. I’ve already watched Serial Experiments Lain three times, Elfen Lied twice…
A friend of mine did download the entire Inuyasha series, and I will list here all the implications of DLing every single chapter:
- 167 chapters x 200 MB per each chapter = 33400 MB for the whole thing. 33400 MB / 1024 MB per gigabyte = 32.6171 GB approx. 32.6171 GB / 4.7 GB per DVD = 6.9398; 32.6171 / 0.68 GB per CD = 47.9663. That adds up for 7 DVDs, or 48 CD’s!!!
- You’ll have to spend $10 dollars worth of CD’s, provided that they’re really cheap.
- You need at least 40 GB of disk space if you want to download the whole thing at once, if we consider that each chapter weights 200 MB.
- But that’s not always the case, so the disk space might even increase to at most 44 GB.
- If you download them over a 512k connection: 32.6171 GB x (1024)2 KB per gigabyte = 34201508.2496 KB total / 50 KB/s in a 512k connection = 684030.1649 seconds / 3600 seconds in an hour = 190.0083 hours / 24 hours in a day = 7.9170 = almost 8 continous days of download! If you share your PC, you probably leave it downloading while you’re sleeping; if this is your case, the numbers change to 190.0083 / 8 daily hours = 23.7510 = Almost an entire month of download!!!
I wish you luck on your quest for the Mother of All Downloads.
