relearn spanish

i went to his place, but he didn’t show, so i went home and started smoking, but then he called and said his phone didn’t ring and that he was there. haha so i ended up going back and i was freaking high getting spanish lessons, and having to speak spanish (it’s been years now) and it was awful!! i was doing sooo bad, i couldn’t remember the conjugations for the life of me! he thought i did well though, and said that i knew my basics and remembered a lot more than he thought i would. he said i’d see differences in a month if i continued. i’m too embarrassed to go back there though! i think i’m going to do a group spanish lesson with my friend instead. cheaper, more fun, and less pressure ;)

haha well it turns out “mele” is a guy, i talked to him on the phone and he sounds like an awesome, excited teacher! i start lessons 3x’s a week starting monday!! i’m so excited, i’m actually going to be doing something that i’ve wanted to do for a looooong time :) he said groups of his students sometimes take trips to different parts of tj so we can actually talk and use our spanish :)

i’m going on a trip to mexico in november to honor my friend’s brother who passed away, and i hope to be comfortable speaking it so i can talk to the kids and families. that’s my goal within this goal. r.i.p. scottie :(

i emailed a woman professor off of craigslist who teaches spanish in a non-classroom way (she focuses a lot more on conversation). she guarantees a higher grade in your normal spanish class….i don’t know how much she charges yet, but i’ve at least made a step in the right direction with this goal. :)
