We had an office supply delivery yesterday  — 1 month ago

that was wrong. Well, it all started with my ordering the wrong envelopes and calling to make the right order before it was delivered. But by Murphy’s law they sent the wrong envelopes anyway.
The delivery guy waited patiently while I made the call to solve the problem. I didn’t get angry. I told him it was my initial mistake anyway. He commented that he really liked my pen and I absent minededly told him he could have it. He said “Really?” and smiled.

We straightened out the order on the phone and the delivery guy said he’d have them to me first thing today. I thanked him and didn’t give it another thought.

When I got in this morning the bag with the envelopes were hanging on the front door and there was a message for me from the delivery guy that if I needed anything else please call.

Treating others with respect sure has nice benefits. :)

The lawn fairy  — 2 months ago

appeared yesterday. Last night when I got home from work I noticed my lawn had been mowed. It looked wonderful!

The neighbor’s lawn was mown also. No one was home so I don’t know if they did my yard or if my landlord did it for me.

I will get to the bottom of this mystery but in the meantime I am just so happy I didn’t have to buy a mower yet. :)

My new neighbor  — 3 months ago

works for a property management company. Yesterday he called a friend and said he was cleaning out a house that they told him to take the furniture to Good Will.

He said it was a couple of chairs and a dining set that were very nice and he knew my things are still in Texas so he asked her if I would want them. He didn’t have my phone number.

He dropped by the chairs last night and is bringing me the table today. :)

Last night there was a local "Gone Fishin"  — 3 months ago

a chamber business after hours gathering at the headquarters of Montana Coffee Traders. I wasn’t going to go but a friend insisted that we go.

I didn’t have any cash to put into the drawing but the Chamber Director told me to put my name in for a door prize anyway.

I won a beautiful inspirational picture of a mountain goat climbing a mountain top! As a Capricorn I am truly inspired. It is an art piece made by the sister of a woman I greatly admire here in the wilderness.

God/the Universe has smiled on me all week. :)

I stopped by the local supermarket  — 4 months ago

for a cup of organic, trade free grown coffee sold here in the wilderness. The prices have gone up substantially…

The woman in the deli just smiled when I handed her my money and said she’d just charge me for a small cup this morning because I come by every morning and brighten her day.

It is true what goes around…comes around. :)

A priceless payment~  — 1 year ago

When I parked for the state real estate exam today my car door wouldn’t close. I was taking the exam at H&R Block in a strip shopping center. I asked a guy in the parking lot to help me. He was very nice and said this has happened to him before.

I told him I was nervous about the exam and the timing on this happening wasn’t ideal. Turns out his mom has her real estate license and his dad sells commercial real estate in Helena.

The post that the door latches to was loose so he tightened it with my handy wrench in the tool kit I got on sale when my friend was here. My friend told me I shouldn’t be out on the road without one.

My car door was fixed in time for me to take my exam by a very nice gentleman who when I asked him what I owed him said nothing but my thank you that I had already given him when he stopped to help. :)

I met a cute guy at a holiday party  — 1 year ago

a few weeks ago. He was younger than my sons and gay but he was a delightful party companion. I didn’t know anyone there so he pretty much occupied my time and made me feel welcome.

He is the Director of Marketing for the Texas Ballet. A world class Ballet company. This is their busiest season.

The Nutcracker is my all time favorite ballet so he offered me 2 comp tickets to a performance this weekend. Honestly I had forgotten about that thinking it was party talk.

He called today to make certain I could use the tickets he set aside for me. My friend that I am staying with has planned a dinner party for my birthday so I won’t be able to use the tickets to the Nutcracker.

Wow! Talk about pronoia. I am doubly blessed in this story.

There is an older gentleman  — 1 year ago

in the apartment complex where I am staying with friends whose girlfriend died 2 months ago yesterday. He is a very sweet person who has taken a shine to me. I know how lonely he must be right now.

Last night he stopped by to visit everyone and discovered I wasn’t feeling well.

He just brought me some chicken noodle soup to help me feel better. He is a very kind new friend.

Last night I met  — 1 year ago

some of the neighbors that live in the apartment complex where my friend lives. She has been kind in letting me stay for a few days.

Anyway she has decorated her patio for the Holidays and some neighbors came by. We enjoyed a glass of wine and sang Christmas carols. It was fun.

One of the guys is a born again Christian. We had alot to talk about. My goals and plans. My break-up. He sat there smiling assuring me God is with us and I will be fine.

Then out of the blue he offered me the use of his car whenever I need it to take care of things. I just met him and he says I trust you with my car. I politely declined but took a rain check.

A sense that everything will be okay came over me like a nice warm blanket.

I went for a long walk today  — 1 year ago

to clear my head. I have relapsed and blew up at B last night. We had a terrible row. We just can’t make it 6 weeks without him pushing all of my buttons and me letting him. I am tired of this and so is he. We may give ourselves a breakup for Christmas. I think we would both be happier.
There is a shopping center about a mile away so I walked over there to browse through Borders Book Store.
As I was leaving to come home I stopped in the Purple Cow for a coke to go. The young man who was the host immediately got me the coke and as I went to pay for it he said never mind …it was on him.
That was so sweet.
