be a passionate collector

I have a few pieces of pillow pattern crockery – bread plates – that I started to collect as its a beautiful pattern and colour. I’ve never really gotten serious about it though as it can be expensive. The other day at work I saw a colleague had advertised a 50 piece set including bowls, teapot, mugs, cups, plates, eggcups etc. I thought it would be a lovely thing to own and actually use each day. I only have one nice dinner setting at the moment and one very plain one I’ve had for nearly 15 years, so I could gift that to someone and replace it with this nice set. Am waiting on a return email to see if its still available.

books books books! I work in a library and have for 22 years. So I guess I love books. If I had an enormous house this collection would line the walls of a dedicated library with one of those ladder on wheels set ups.

I started this collection when my Grandfather died and my mother gave me some of the small bottles from my Pop’s house. He was an avid collector too. I like the littleness of these bottles. I’ve gotten some of the bottles from Collectorama’s, they are relatively cheap objects which is good.

This is a small collection, that was one of the first things I collected. Its got to be a dark dark green glass and unusual shaped. I’m not actively collecting this at the moment, but if I saw a good piece I would grab it.

This is my most recently started collection and its coming along nicely if somewhat slowly. Hat pins are harder to find and usually fairly expensive. The hat is antique, bought from a vintage store and the model was a Christmas gift to help with displaying the collection.

We have two real live cats and an over abundance of unreal cats who reside on the top of our TV. They come in all shapes, sizes, colours and textures and have arrive on birthdays and xmas.

my 1920’s style head figure is now adorned with a beautiful blue period piece hat that will hold all my hat pins. Yah.

thank you Olive, who sent three new hatpins all the way from the UK for a Xmas present. My collection grows :) New ones are the bright green blue one, the green stone with silver on top and the amber coloured one. Adam gave me a 1920’s style head figure upon which I intend to set a unique hat with all the hatpins adorning it.

I collect books, hatpins, green glass, dartmouth pottery, shells, seed pods, rocks and I proxy collect pill boxes for someone else.
