Mom 18 months ago

It’s been so nice to have a few hours with her each Friday. We have lunch, chat, laugh, she is a great listener; I tend to ramble when I’m with her. She has this paraffin hand wax thing. And we have been using it each Friday; it does make your hands super smooth!

I have had a chance to tell her how important she is and she has had a chance to tell me. I really enjoy the talks we’ve been having.

Birthday plans.. 2 years ago

Well I guess this goal works both ways of course. I’m thankful for others and others being thankful for me! :-)

My husband wanted to surprise me for my birthday this year. He thought of three different things we could do that he thought I’d enjoy and wants me to now pick one of them (to make sure we do something I really want). He wanted it to be a surprise, but he wasn’t sure which one I’d want the most….

They are all so good. I’m stumped (and getting more and more excited the more I think of each one)! All three are great ideas and sweet of him to think of; I’d enjoy any of them! He says he wants me to pick the one I’d want to do the most since it’s my day and he wants it to be special (he actually said he is thankful for me so I figured it fit under this goal…).

1. Bed and breakfast at a very nice B&B not too far from home (we have talked about staying at this place for about 3 years or more now).
2. Roadtrip to six flags (we’ve never been but talked about it for years!)
3. Rent a cabin (a nice cottage rather) at the lake for the entire weekend. I have looked into cabins for us to stay at in the past, but they were kind of rustic, the one he suggested is very nice! And they only have one left! I need to hurry up and make up my mind!

Maybe I’ll put them all in a hat and just draw one out! :-)

My husband... 2 years ago

After beging together for over 18 years and married almost 10 we have had our ups and downs, our agreements and disagreements; a roller coaster of emotions at times. And the past year has been no exception. BUT the past month has been a Godsend.

It’s like we are on the same path, walking side by side once again instead of only seeing each other in the distance. Things are so simple now with no confusion. Sometimes life throws obstacles your way and lack of time or other issues make you think you have to figure it all out on your own…but you don’t.

I can’t put it all into words, it’s just like the light has been lit once again and I really don’t see it going dim ever again. We have more clarity now than we ever have; even better communication. He’s always been my best friend and 18 years of experience and growth has made us even closer than ever. I’m truly thankful. Very very thankful that all the pieces are fitting together so nicely. We are working on future goals together, not on just our own and that is a blessing. Yep, very thankful and happy indeed. :-) I could go on and on, but for now I’ll stop.

This weekend.. 2 years ago

Saturday I ran some errands then went to see my mom. It was just her and I and we talked about everything from my childhood to my lip gloss making desire. :-)

It was nice to just talk for hours, we have not done that in a long time. We have seen one another but not just talked and laughed. She told me she really enjoyed it and I told her I was thankful for the hours we got.

Not sure.. 2 years ago

If this entry should go here, but I think it should.

Spent some time this weekend with my mother and sister. We have not actually done anything together in a long time. We have chatted and eaten together, but no projects. I love doing whatever I can with the two of them, but I really enjoy the simple little projects. Before the Holiday I had bought a set of shrinky dinks. And Sat. we spent about 3 hours tracing and coloring! It was SOO much fun. It was like time stopped and we laughed and enjoyed every moment. And we all told the others how much we loved them. It’s a moment that will be cherished forever. And aren’t my ‘dinks’ cute?! lol They shrank A LOT! They are so adorable, if I do say so myself…

today 3 years ago

I had lunch with a dear dear friend that I use to work with daily, I miss her a lot. She always hugs hello and goodbye and it’s just so sweet. and even thought I miss her a lot, I am so thankful for her, she is simply amazing. She is so smart and soooo positive. I really enjoyed it. I sent her a quick email letting her know how much the lunch meant to me. I still feel like I could say a lot more, but I don’t want to sound too mushy or weird! ;-) It was nice to see her again though! And we plan on trying to make this a more common event (having lunch).

Cards 3 years ago

Well I made a very nice Mother’s Day card and wrote in it exactly what I wanted to say, instead of trying to find a store manufactured one to say what I was thinking! I know what I wanted to say so I said it. She actually had tears in her eyes. MUCH better than an overpriced one I think. I might do this every year.

I have written a few letters to a few different people, but don’t feel I can mark this off just yet. Plus I need to always do this right? For the rest of my life I need to thank people and tell the ones I love that I love them!

Being thankful 3 years ago

I am so thankful for the friends and family I have. I have always realized how precious life is, but sometimes it takes a wake up call from life to remind you.

I try to remember to tell everyone that I love them, but I want to make sure they know it and know why I appreciate them. Maybe I’ll write some letters, etc. I am going to work on this as soon as possible.
