I have a nice boyfriend who consistently treats me well (though sometimes he is grumpy, which isn’t fun).
Today I spent the afternoon/evening with a friend who had her boyfriend arrested for assault and grand theft this morning. We just spent 2 hours in the emergency room to get her shoulder xrayed.
On the plus side, she found a lovely apartment to move into, though it is expensive. And luckily, I have an extra laptop she can use so she (hopefully) won’t lose her job after her boyfriend dumped water all over her laptop.
This gives me great motivation to back up the files on my old laptop (which I needed to do anyway), and clean up the desktop, etc. Hopefully that will help it run faster too!

today is going to be a very good day.
Not necessarily an easy day, but a forward-moving one :-D

Mmmmmmmmmmm!
My newly cleaned fridge is now stocked with freshly picked organic blueberries that my friend just gave me.
She picked them herself & her dad owns a blueberry farm. How cool is that!?
AND they are the best blueberries I have ever had :-)
Yay!

This one’s for real. My friend just had a baby, and she’s wanted a baby for a few years now so I can only imagine how overjoyed she is.
I’m not really into babies (yet??) myself, but it’s nice to see how much joy they can bring to others.

yesterday one of my classmates told me that I have a “timeless look”. I was bracing myself to hear something about looking like a scullery maid from the 1850s or whatnot, but then he said I could pass for a 21 year old, only a bit tall for a 21 year old.
I looked at him with a laugh and just had to point out – Uh, Jason, when I was 21 I was the same height as I am now!!!
Silly rabbit!
Anyway, I figure if someone younger than you thinks you’re closer to his/her age than you are, it’s a compliment.
If someone older than you thinks you’re closer to their age, it’s also a compliment.
... I’m just bracing myself for the day when I’m teaching kids and one of them says, “You’re 33? I thought you were 45!”

went with a friend on a little daytrip to the States to have lunch with some friends I first met in Japan. It was a lovely day and we went to the beach to “throw rocks” (they have a 2-year old).
OK, might as well admit it - I've always loved throwing rocks too!
Nice to get out of town, and good to catch up. Need to make more effort than ever to keep in touch!
