spanish and farsi are going well. if anyone is interested in farsi, i encourage you to try it and not be too scared. i was daunted at first because i’d had a pretty hard time with arabic, but farsi is much easier (for me, at least)

one of my new years resolutions is to study spanish and farsi pretty much every day until i leave the country to travel. i’m working on farsi from a grammer book, which is tough since i don’t even know the sounds. i have a tape; i guess i should listen to that as well, though i generally learn much better from books. for spanish i’m reading harry potter y la piedra filosofal, which keeps me more or less amused.
i keep starting to study languages and then switching languages and having to start over. so far i’ve taken four years of german, two years of arabic, one year of hindi and a semester of french, as well as studying more arabic, spanish, and a little farsi on my own.
the sad thing is, the only part of this that i really remember is a little each of german and spanish. i just need to pick one i guess, but i want to speak them all! (and start on sign language, if i can figure out how)
