well, i bought carbon neutral certificates for basically everything i did this year, which is about as good as i can get powerwise around here where there is no wind power option or anything like that.
also, i recently realized that according to our gas bill we used less than half the gas this past winter that we did the year before. i guess our weatherproofing efforts paid off, which is especially great because the bill was still basically the same…i can hardly imagine what it would have been if we hadn’t cut down on gas. we had several good quality electric space heaters for supplemental warmth, which didn’t increase our electricity use that much, so it was probably a good idea.

i travel a lot, which i try to do in sustainable ways, but it isn’t always possible, so i want to try to buy some carbon neutral certificates. i also want to sign up for wind powered electricity, but i can’t figure out how. green mountain power company concerns me more the more i look into it.

i took the test a while ago, and though i think of myself as a pretty environmentally conscious person, it said we would need at least three earths if everyone lived like me! (and, i have a nagging suspicion that things have gotten worse since then) so i want to find ways to reverse some of my abuse. i’m pretty into the concept of zero waste (as opposed to harm reduction)
