Great American Beer Festival 2 years ago

So I went to this festival in Denver, CO for the first time this year (October). Can I just say how overwhelming it is? With over 1,700 beers on tap to taste, where does one begin? I have to say, my most favorite tasting (and well worth waiting in one of the longest lines there) was from Dogfish Head Brewery from Delaware. I sampled the Black & Blue which is a Belgian stye strong ale fermented with blackberries and blueberries. So freakin tasty! Now I want to visit Delaware just to tour the brewery!!!

2 new beers: 2 years ago

Van Steenberge’s Piraat: tasty! Didn’t realize until I was 1/2 way through it that it is 10.5% alc! I don’t usually care for IPAs, but adding a Beligian flavor made it more enjoyable

Stone’s Smoked Porter: Local brewery known for their “Arrogant Bastard Ale”, this porter was delicious. Definitely one of my favorites! Although we are heading into a warmer season and dark beers may not sound fitting, I strongly recommend a Stone Smoked Porter Float! Good summer treat.

Tried 2 new ones last night... 2 years ago

Avery’s White Rascal (Belgian Wheat): Eh. Wasn’t too crazy about it which was disappointing since I really like Belgian beers. Had a very subtle flavor and wasn’t as “thirst quenching” as I was hoping.

Port Truck Stout: Quite tasty and easy to drink. A bit thinner than other stouts (vs. Guinness). Enjoyed this one MUCH more than the White Rascal.

Choco Latte Porter 2 years ago

By the San Diego Brewing Co.: Had it for the second time last night. Quite tasty. Nitro poured so it’s not that bubbly.
