I now have three books for research for my novel about Japan.
1. “What to do with Japan,” written by…someone I can’t remember because that book isn’t right with me.
2. “A History of Postwar Japan, previously published as 100 Million Japanese,” by Masataka Osaka.
3 “The Government of Japan” by Naokichi Kitazawa.
I just picked up the last one today. The first was written circa 1945, and the last one was written in 1929. The last one details how the government was structured, which is immensely useful. It’s hard finding any real info at all on this. there are things thrown in here or there in other books,b ut for the ones written after WWII, they are vindictive and bitter and biased. (What to do with Japan is interesting, but I don’t know how far I can trust it.)
I think my next step is to actually write out my outline. I’ll read this new book first, though.
